Right now, if you want to play Tomb Raider on your Mac or MacBook, you'll have to make do with either Windows emulation software like Parallels Desktop or Boot Camp. But, if all goes according to plan, soon there'll be a native version of the game for MacOS - not to mention one for Linux. That's great news for any gamer who doesn't use Windows exclusively - but it's made even better by the fact that Feral Interactive are leading development on this new port. Anyone who remembers Feral Interactive's version of XCOM 2 released last year will know that they put in an insane amount of work into optimizing that game for performance on both macOS and Linux. If they can do the same for Tomb Raider, well, we're in for a treat.
To add to this already impressive list of features, Feral Interactive will also be releasing a "Beard Pack", which will enable Lara Croft to grow a beard if you so wished. With all of these new updates, don't expect to get your hands on this port of the game until some time next year. Of course, you can always play it right now on Steam with the newly released beta client - if you're patient enough. There are plenty of reasons to get excited about gaming's next big breakthrough on Mac - but this update is shaping up to be bigger than all of them put together. -Jordan Raup ARTICLE END.
